Model 49

General
The model 49 is the same model as the model 48. The only distinction is the material of the barrel. The model 48 has a steel barrel and the model 49 a damascus barrel. The model 49 was introduced in 1900, the production ended in 1905. The price for this gun was 105 sek

System
The mechanism used for this shotgun is the top lever with a quadruple lock, without a cross bolt. The back action locks are approx. 11 cm long, and are radial aligned with the action. The hammers are more of a standard design. The connection of the frame to the wood is long, see picture on the right. The gun has a beautiful and rich engraving. Often seen with hunting scenes on the lock plates.
The picture shows the Top Lever mechanism.

Barrel and sights
The barrel is made of damascus steel. The barrel length is between 73 and 75 cm. The model 49 was made as a 12 Ga and a 16 Ga with a 65 mm chamber length. These guns are only suitable for low pressure loads; black powder loads.

Stock
The stock is made of walnut and has a pistol grip. Both the grip and front stock have checkering. The connection of the front stock to the gun is done with a wedge or a spring lock construction.
